QUESTION: I have a set of 50mm termis and conecting pipe do i have to do any thing else to my 996s if i fit them ,ie mapping wise . If so do u guys do it ? and how much thanks for your time. - Craig
ANSWER: When fitting the open pipes there are 3 options really to ensure your bike doesn't run too lean and damage the motor (you'll also get the most out of the pipes performance too)...
1. The best option - Power commander and custom map - this is also the most expensive! At approx £500 fully fitted, set up and with a custom dyno map written specifically for your bike it will ensure your bike is fuelling perfectly throughout the rev and throttle position range. Includes before and after dyno charts.
2. FIM Race ECU- these are excellent Ecu's written specifically for each model and we get excellent results with these on 996's. the best performing plug in chip you can get, better power and throttle response. Is also adjustable in certain zones, so we can fine tune the performance. This is the most popular option for a 996. price is approx £200 fitted and set up.
3. The Ducati performance open pipe ECU - these are the same map as you have now but with approx 8% more fuel throughout the range. Very good value for money at approx £45 and is the ideal options if you are happy with the performance you have now but want to ensure your motor is running safely with the open pipes fitted.
QUESTION: What is the paint code for a 2005 999bp, Red and what do paint repairs cost - Dennis
ANSWER: The paint code for that particular model is 473.101, and the name is Ducati Anniversary Red.
As to paint repairs, we use a local bike painter who are very good for small repairs. We could point you in their direction if you're local to us - Craig
QUESTION: I have a 2005 999bp what exhuast options are there? - Martin
ANSWER: The most popular extra with every 999! the Termi system... the options for the 2005 749 or 999 are either an asymmetric Termignoni system or a full race system, lets start with the difference... asymmetric or "unbalanced" system is a half system that replaces the end can and the link pipe that contains the small 'cat',(but the headers are different lengths, hence "unbalanced"). The full system is balanced (has both header/link pipes the same length) and is oversized to 57mm (asymmetric is 50mm) and is far better for ultimate performance.
So its down to what you want to achieve / spend. the asymmetric system will give the look and sound most superbike owners are looking for, however the full race system will give that extra bit of performance as well.
For the 999-05 the asymmetric costs about £1100 but the full system is only £1400 ! what a bargain (both come with remapped ECU and air filter kit)
(note: the system for the 2002-03 bikes will not fit the 05 bike because of the race swingarm now fitted to the 05 bikes) - Call Craig on 01962 877996 for exhaust options, prices and availability - Wilf

QUESTION: Is there a carbon hugger available for the S2R? - Tom
ANSWER: Yes the carbon hugger is now available, costs about £160 in vat
QUESTION: Got to you from the DSC, need some suspension advise, I have a 749S but cant get it to handle like my 748 can you set it up? - Daniel
ANSWER: No problem, a lot of riders going from 748/998 to the new bikes are saying that they find the new bike understeers compared to the old chassis, we can do a custom set up for you and make it feel just as you want it, the main changes involve getting the rear ride height correct. We do a custom set up with each new bike and the new bikes seem a bit slow steering on the standard settings.
QUESTION: What does fitting a lightweight flywheel do, is it just for racing to save weight? - Marco
ANSWER: The flywheel is a balanced disc of specific weight fitted to the end of the crank, mostly to provide the motor with inertia and therfore smooth power curve, less stalling etc. Less weight on the crank / flywheel = less weight for the motor to get spinning, so the motor can increase revs faster, the downside is at low revs the motor does not have the inertia to keep it ticking over smoothly. On the road it makes the motor feel like it can increase revs faster but then drop revs faster when you close the throttle. Basically makes everything a bit more lively! weight saving is typically 0.8 to 0.9 kgs, race bikes can be up to 1.2kgs
QUESTION: I want to get my 996 tuned, i have heard that you can fit the 916 eprom chip to it to make it more powerfull, how much is this? - Keith
ANSWER: Often asked this, bit of an urban myth, you can convert the twin injector system on the 996 and 996S (not sps) to single injector, as the one injector runs much more effciently at low revs, it really smooths out the bottom end, and unless you have over 130bhp, a single injector provides plenty of fuel at the top end. The correct way of doing this is with an FIM Ultimap eprom chip, this has a redesigned fuel map for the single injector, allowing us to safely disconnect the second one, and, with a bit of dyno time, get perfect fueling, typical gains on our dyno are 6-10 bhp and a far smoother motor.
. NOTE: We have seen this mod done with SPS motors, not a good idea, The SPS used the "Large" ECU (P8) which has the function to run 2 sets of injectors independantly, so at low revs / throttle position, it uses single inejctor and the second one comes in later in the rev range.
QUESTION: I have a monster with single front dics, is there a conversion to twin discs available? - Gary
ANSWER: There is an official kit avilable to convert all the single disc monsters and supersports, part number depends on your bike, price is approx £450 +vat, includes disc, caliper, pads and hose kit.
QUESTION: What price are Termignonis for my 749-04 and are they available? - Richard
ANSWER: Termis are available, although the status of these items changes often. There are several options available from a performance end can to a full race system. Prices range from £699 for our own race can to £2799 for a full Titanium system.
QUESTION: Where can I find out the paint codes for my Ducati 996? - Martin
ANSWER: Here they are... The paint is made by a company called PPG so your painter should be able to cross ref it with their supplier
- Metallic Black = 291.500 / Ducati Red = 473.101 / Ducati Yellow = 473.201
- Metallic Grey = 291.601 / Ducati Metallic Blue = 291.800 / Dark (Senna) Gray = 0017
- Gray Steel = 223.647 / Titanium = 291.600
QUESTION: Do you sell the fast by feracci air filters? - Alan
ANSWER: The FBF filters are not currently being imported to the U.K. which is why it took some time to be sure about availability.
We can currently get the ITG performance filter at £69.99 which works in a similar fashion to the Ferraci one.
However, we are currently testing some new performance filters, When they have been tested we will put a note in our newsletter page letting you know how we got on with them... Ben
